Simple tips Short cut keys
Try typing L and enter into your 2D CAD software. Note you are straight into the line command, which is faster than hitting the line icon. On my own tests, I can save 25% of my CAD drafting time. Email [email protected] for a list of common short cut keys.
Right mouse key within a command often provides an Undo option which will undo just the last step. A good example if you are using polyline to outline an area. If you make a mistake, you can right mouse and undo the last segment drawn. Saving you having to use the ordinary undo and restart the line from the beginning.
Shit + right mouse. Having made a selection, did you pick an object(s) by mistake? Hold shift and left click those items to take them out of your selection. So you don't have to restart your selection.
Object snaps
There are many object snaps that you probably use frequently ush as end point, mid point and centre of circles/arcs. Save time by having these turned on automatically which saves having to type mid for example.
Hold shift key and then push right mouse to see a pop up menu to access Drafting settings. Click the select all button but then untick tangent. The reason we use tangent manually is to avoid other osnaps getting in the way of mathematical tangent calculations.
Use this same technique if you wish to see only one osnap type, which you can select from the pop up menu.
Match properties (Short cut MA)
You can match the properties of a source object onto another similar object. A red line can be used to turn a blue line red for example.
