Monthly CAD tips
Faster drafting tips.
I work with all osnaps turned on except for tangent osnap, which I always use manually.
Since a line tangential to 2 circles for example is a mathematical calculation, so no osnap should be allowed to interfere.
Osnaps can quickly be set up by Shit key+right mouse combination. Turning them all on is then easy, unticking tangent during the process.
So I never have to separately select "Mid point, nearest or perpendicular" for example, as they are available automatically.
That can cause issues when many are bunched up in an area. Then I just use shift+right mouse again and select the osnap I'm looking for. Just for the next click. Then all goes back to normal again.
A useful Osnap which is often neglected is "Mid between 2 points" available at the top section of shift+right mouse pop up menu.
Don't forget "There is no right way to use CAD software" - Only when to get to the end of your CAD work and realise that you might have done it faster another way.
In most CAD teams there is often one or a few efficient persons, with the others just getting by.
That leads to the phenomenon of latent CAD efficiency, with users reluctant to ask for refresher CAD training.
Improving CAD efficiency with update training can be mutually beneficial to both company and users. Improving cash flow, taking the pressure off CAD software users.
